China’s National Energy Administration (NEA) Latest Notice to Wind and Solar New Projects Application in 2020

Chinese National Energy Administration (NEA) has issued a notice on new Wind and Solar power projects application for the year 2020. As per the notice, the NEA calls for new applications for the development of subsidy-free wind and solar power projects. The deadline for submission to NEA and local authorities is set at the end of April this year. The administration will publish a list of qualified projects after thorough verification.

For project developers who have already filed their submission, are allowed to submit additional documents and amendments, if any, before the deadline in April. Projects that seek for subsidy shall go through the auction scheme. In the 2020 subsidy budget, a 500 million yuan is allocated for resident rooftop solar and 1 billion yuan is allocated for ground-mounted and C&I solar projects.

The deadline for bid submission with the applied tariff is 15th June 2020. Back in January 2019, China announced to retire the feed-in-tariff (FIT) scheme for large-scale wind and solar project.
